Having raised approximately 125,000 euros for the Pediatric Heart Surgery Department at the Palermo Civic Hospital through sales of its first CD, Donnafugata Music & Wine has a new solidarity project.
Following the example of Muhammad Yunus - Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2006-Donnafugata and its partners have launched a micro-credit project in Sicily: small loans with special rate granted to persons normally considered "unbankable."
All the funds raised through sales of this CD will be donated to an escrow account managed by Banca Etica to finance micro-enterprises (70%) or programs of a social assistance nature (30%) with an expected recovery of the capital of 85%.
The projects will be selected and backed by a social work network with strong roots in the territory: Consorzio Ulisse, Caritas Palermo and Opera Don Calabria. Working together to give everyone a chance to build a future.
