1^st CD: February 2004

 

Recorded at the Casa della Musica studio in Trieste, the first  CD was released with a concert at the Blue Note jazz club in Milan in October 2004

 

Donnafugata Music & Wine, the musical tastings project created in 2002, became a live CD during the concerts of the 14th and 16th February 2004 at the Casa della Musica recording studio in Trieste. The CD features previously unheard instrumental pieces composed by the musicians of the band, which alternate with songs performed by Josè Rallo.
The concert to launch both the CD and the “Donnafugata per il cuore” (Donnafugata for the heart) project was held at the Blue Note jazz club in Milan. The aim of the project is to raise funds for the children’s heart surgery ward at the Civico hospital in Palermo.

2^nd CD: February 2007

The second CD was recorded in Palermo in February 2007, enhanced with new sounds created by a talented group of musicians.

The original band, with vocalist Josè Rallo, was extended through its association with foundation The Brass Group and the 15 wind instruments of the Orchestra Jazz Siciliana (Sicilian Jazz Orchestra) giving the CD a powerful, refined sound. Two great names of the jazz world also feature on the CD: Eliot Zigmund, drummer for Bill Evans and Michel Petrucciani, as well as Bill Moring, bass player in the orchestras of the legendary Count Basie and Woody Hermann
The funds raised through the sale of this second CD were used for a new solidarity venture: Donnafugata per il future (Donnafugata for the future), a microcredit project.
