Some moments seem ordinary, yet they say a great deal.
Around a set table we come together and talk, with those who raised us, with those we have chosen, with those who share our path today.
“A Family Lunch” is the short film that reveals the spirit of Donnafugata through a genuine conversation between generations. An intimate journey where memory, wine, art and the future are closely intertwined. An invitation to gather around the table as an open space for sharing, where generations, ideas and visions meet.
Donnafugata began and grew as a life project, a dream brought to life. A story built over time, shaped by daily choices, passion and responsibility. In this shared narrative, wine becomes expression, art becomes voice, and sharing becomes the force that brings different stories together in a common direction
Every great project begins with an idea, an intuition that turns into a decision.
Gabriella Anca Rallo recalls the early days with her husband Giacomo Rallo: choosing a name, leafing through books, laughing together at doubts and possibilities. That is how Donnafugata began, with curiosity, imagination and the courage to turn a dream into something real.
– “This was Giacomo’s dream… he was someone who always wanted to move forward” –
For Antonio Rallo, the vineyard and wine have been a passion since his youth. Between schoolwork and time spent in the winery, he learned that daily commitment is the foundation of work that stands the test of time. In Sicily, every territory has its own identity. Each bottle is shaped by care and attention to detail, and reflects the dialogue between experience and innovation
– “Our challenge is to keep finding the best combinations of soil, grape variety and the wine we want to produce” –
José Rallo describes Donnafugata as a company that is shaped with a jazz spirit, where creativity is balanced by practicality and emotion by technique. Art runs through every project, shaped by attention to detail and a constant pursuit of excellence. People, sustainability and inclusion are integral to daily work, with each person contributing their own individuality.
– “Our roots are grounded in dialogue with art, and that is where our projects begin” –
Gabriella Favara, sixth generation, recalls her first time in the winery and her first day at work, filled with emotion, wonder and a photograph taken to capture that moment. The future is not something to wait for, but something to build. It grows out of vision, responsible choices and concrete projects, taking shape in the balance between memory and experience
– “The future of Donnafugata is here: in our roots, in our projects and in our dreams” –
