Josè Rallo among those awarded prizes from the Lombardy Italian Sommelier Association. From 26 to 28 January, a busy programme of masterclasses, tastings and food stands at the Westin Palace Hotel in Milan.
Journalist Paolo Marchi and chef Moreno Cedroni also received awards. Once again, Josè Rallo is the protagonist of a visionary model in the promotion of quality wine in Italy, a piece of the continuous evolution towards reaching new goals and meeting new challenges. For this reason, Donnafugata’s CEO was among the award-winners at the traditional opening Gala of Enozioni a Milano, the event organised by the Lombardy Italian Sommelier Association, at the Westin Palace.
“Professional and competent sommeliers are extremely important for quality food and wine. And in this sense, in regions such as Lombardy, the Italian Sommelier Association represents an important resource for the training of new professionals and the promotion of wine culture among wine enthusiasts. – explained Josè Rallo, while thanking the ISA for the prestigious award – Representing our island here is a source of pride, an opportunity for enrichment and for exchanging ideas that we have always steadfastly sought”.
In addition to Donnafugata, the Lombardy ISA, led by President Hosam Eldin Abou Eleyoun, also awarded prizes to journalist Paolo Marchi and starred chef Moreno Cedroni, who have, in their respective fields, distinguished themselves for their contribution to the promotion of food and wine culture. Josè Rallo’s strong commitment to corporate communication has given strength to female entrepreneurship, showcasing a valuable wine production that is attentive to processes of innovation. The ISA has credited her and her family with the merit of having been pioneers of unprecedented communication languages, stemming from the interaction of wine, art and music, defining the very image of Donnafugata in an original way. The fifth generation of the company – led by José and her brother Antonio Rallo – represents an authentic and sustainable Sicily of wine: from the extreme environment of Pantelleria to the ancient wineries of Marsala, passing through the mountain wine growing of Etna and the lands of Cerasuolo di Vittoria, to the hills of Contessa Entellina where everything originated. The 6th edition of Enozioni a Milano will continue at the Westin Palace Hotel until Sunday, with in-depth thematic discussions, tasting stands, and masterclasses.
