Dolce&Gabbana and Donnafugata present two new prestigious productions grown on the slopes of the Etna volcano: the white Isolano 2019 and the red Cuordilava 2017, wines of great elegance and minerality, the result of the viticulture of this mountainous terroir.
The two new proposals enrich the family of wines born from the collaboration between Dolce&Gabbana and Donnafugata, after the Rosa rosé and a limited and numbered edition of the red Tancredi 2016. Love for tradition, devotion to craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail are the values that have always united these two excellences of Made in Italy.
Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, offers a unique habitat that gives life to wines of great personality. Here the Sicilian sunshine combines with the high altitude of the vineyards, resulting in cooler temperatures. Thanks to the significant thermal excursion range and the extraordinary richness of soil, originating from lava flows, accumulations of rocks, ashes and debris – the so-called “sciare” in Sicilian language – the wines from this area acquire an unmistakable character.
Isolano comes from a selection of Carricante grapes from the vintage of 2019: a white wine with a refined bouquet with citrus scents, notes of blooming broom and aromatic herbs; volcanic and Mediterranean, Isolano has an enveloping and mineral taste.
Cuordilava is obtained from the vintage of 2017 of Nerello Mascalese grapes: a red wine of great elegance that, after a long period of aging, expresses intense notes of small red fruits, spices and underbrush; on the palate it is broad and deep, with caressing tannins and a long persistence.
The excellence of Isolano and Cuordilava fits perfectly with the creativity of Dolce&Gabbana, who designed the coordinated image: the geometric motifs that recall the folklore of the Sicilian Cart, in red, green, blue and yellow, intertwine with the representation of the Etna steaming, telling the beauty of the best tradition of the Island and the extraordinary uniqueness of its landscapes.
In addition to the 750 ml bottle, Isolano and Cuordilava are also available in the Magnum format on https://world.dolcegabbana.com/food-beverage and on https://www.donnafugata.it/en/wine-collection/dolcegabbana-and-donnafugata/
