Aging in tank for at least two months, then in bottle for approximately two months before being released for sale.

At the table

Perfect for an aperitif; we recommend it paired with seafood salads, vegetable and cheese fo-caccias.
Try it with raw shellfish or delicious Club Sandwiches.
Serve it in medium-sized unflared glasses, of a good height. Uncork at the time of serving, excellent at 10–12° C (50-53° F)

At Contessa Entellina, where Donnafugata comes from

In the settings of the Gattopardo

In the heart of western Sicily - among the hills of Contessa Entellina, between 200 and 500 m a.s.l. - lie the vineyards Donnafugata comes from. The climate is Mediterranean, with rain concentrated during the autumn and winter months, dry and breezy summers, with a great range of air temperature variations between day and night. The soils are predominantly medium-clayey, but vary according to the peculiarities of the individual districts.

Sustainability at the service of quality

Sustainable management of agricultural activities

For over 30 years we have been pursuing environmental sustainability with a system of good practices: we do not use herbicides and chemical fertilizers and we minimize the use of pesticides. At the Contessa Entellina estate, we installed two photovoltaic systems in 2002 and 2008, in order to produce clean energy and reduce our emissions.

Biodiversity, an expression of an authentic Sicily

Since 2009, we have been committed to the protection and enhancement of Sicilian wine biodiversity thanks to an experimental vineyard with 19 native varieties including some heritage varieties, which have almost completely disappeared.

Lumera

Lumera is an evocative name, in full Donnafugata style. It’s the beloved woman, the sublime being who inspires joy and fullness of life. It’s the woman portrayed on the label, it’s the wine that bears her name.
