An intense ruby red colour with brilliant purple tints, Floramundi 2022 has strong fruity aromas, including hints of strawberry and plum, and floral notes of lavender and freesia; the bouquet opens to delicate balsamic and spicy nuances.
On the palate it is fresh and smooth, making it juicy and very drinkable.

The tannins are fine and well integrated. Floramundi 2022 embodies the harmonious balance of Cerasuolo

At the table

Perfect in the glass, it goes well with savoury first courses and grilled meat; try with ravioli stuffed with meat and pork fillets.
Also perfect with red tuna steaks, amberjack or large baked fishes.

In the lands of the Baroque

Between the Hyblaean mountains and the sea

In southeastern Sicily, in Vittoria, we chose a territory with excellent potential that includes the first and only DOCG in Sicily: Cerasuolo di Vittoria. In this area, the soils are of medium texture, tending to sandy with limestone tuffs. The winery, in the Dirillo River valley is surrounded by honey-colored rocks, which is perfectly integrated into the landscape.

The dialogue between the sea and the Hyblaean mountains

The climate at Vittoria is typically Mediterranean, with a warm temperate and quite windy even in summer. The vineyards benefit from cool “thermal breezes” with a great air temperature variation between the day and the night. The vineyards are arranged along the line of the valley in order to follow the direction of the winds, which blow from the Hyblaean plateau towards the sea by caressing the grapes.

At Vittoria, Donnafugata cultivates two native varieties: Nero d'Avola, king of the Sicilian red grape varieties, and Frappato, one of the oldest Sicilian varieties. The wines of this area are fragrant and floral, they have smooth tannins and are extremely pleasant. Unusual red wines, to be tried chilled, which are surprisingly quite versatile.

Floramundi

Floramundi is a fantastic figure of a woman who is giving the gift of wonderful interlacements of flowers and fruits with velvety tones. It is a dialogue between two souls, the elegant and sophisticated one of Floral Liberty, of which Vittoria is rich in testimonies, and the fascinating and suggestive one of the tradition of the Pupi Siciliani (Sicilian Puppets). A dialogue between Nero d’Avola and Frappato to listen to with pleasure. A refined artistic label for a prestigious denomination: Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG.
