Donnafugata produces volcanic wines on Etna and Pantelleria, in a continuous interplay of tradition and innovation.
Two extraordinary, captivating regions are home to wines with a volcanic soul and a strong sense of place. From the aromatic freshness of Pantelleria’s wines to the elegant minerality of Etna’s vintages.
On Pantelleria, an island of volcanic origin in the heart of the Mediterranean, vines of Zibibbo (Muscat of Alexandria) are cultivated on traditional terraces bordered by dry-stone walls, using the Pantelleria “alberello” head-trained bush practice. This sun and wind-swept island is the setting for heroic viticulture that yields aromatic wines full of freshness and minerality. Irresistible in every way.
On the northern slopes of Mount Etna, Donnafugata produces mountain wines. Here, the combination of elevation, wide temperature swings and lava-rich mineral soils creates a unique aromatic complexity, resulting in wines that are true sensory masterpieces.
